The 2012 Summer Olympics!!!

WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

(Okay. That was probably the best introduction EVAR.)

I'm usually not excited to watch sports. Heck, I don't even like watching sports. The whole my team vs. your team, "representin'" and all that.. blah. I could care less.

But I am seriously stoked about the upcoming games. This is history, going on, people! And it's the last Olympic event that we will know of, because everyone knows the world ends on December 21st.

4 years ago, I didn't really care, much less know what was going on. I don't really remember anything about it, actually. I was finicky and foolish, innocent and impressible... Kidding. I was a know-it-all and a big pervert. Always was, always will be.

But the Games of the XXX Olympiad (XXX? Oh, you pervy Brits ♥) are a great way for everyone to get together. It bring people of all nationalities and genders and beliefs together, to participate in fun and friendly competition. (I may or may not have quoted this from my AP World History exam) Opening ceremony is today (I was writing this around 11:50 PM or so, now it's another day.)

London hosted the games in 1908 and 1948. That makes the the first city to host the games thrice.
Jokingly described as "two parts-Teletubby, one-part lava lamp", Olympic mascot Wenlock (right) and Paralympic mascot Mandeville (left) are the official mascots of the 2012 London Summer Olympics that are getting lots of attention worldwide!

Rio has already been decided to be the host of the 2016 Games.
